Mfuwe, Zambia Zafari!

I’m gonna let the pictures do the talking here as much as I can. Our three days in Zambia were mostly just sitting in a truck and taking pictures of stuff, so there’s not much to tell.

Yes, those are zebras.

That’s called an elephant.

Bush breakfast was nice, but embarassingly decadent. Experiencing luxury in such circumstances kind of diminishes the experience.

Buffalo.

Much scarier at night.

Hippos.

Also scarier at night.

Giraffes? Giraffes!

We did about 7 hours a day. It gets kind of boring.

Honestly, the first time I saw an elephant in the wild, my head exploded. The seventeenth time, I was thinking about the set list for Rock Band.

After lunch, we enlisted our guide to take us outside the game park and into the local village of Mfuwe.

I brought my Canon portable photo printer, so we were able to hand out pictures to all the kids. Talk about exploding heads!

I also brought balls, whistles, and balloons.

Img_5008

Ah, balloons. Worth their weight in gold. Easy to pack, easy to carry, always a hit. I got in the habit of keeping a few in my pocket at all times.

The room was also more than we needed…although, after some rough accommodations in Madagascar, it was welcome.

There were lions on the premises one night. We could hear them after dinner. We had to be escorted to our cabin by the watchman. Holy crap, that was awesome.

A family of elephants passing through the dry river bed off the balcony. No time for clothes.

Great pics.I think you were a little too interested in the Cannabilism in the last post from Fiji, maybe you’re a little more twisted than I thought!

Matt, why did you change the caption in the last picture from “Bedroom safari” to “in-room safari”? Was the PG-13 rated innuendo not what you were trying for? Too bad, it worked!
